Hydroxyapatite (HA) coating is carried out in a plasma spray system where raw HA powder is plasma sprayed onto the implants. This is done using an automated program which allows the HA coating to be sprayed evenly on the surface of the implant. This HA coating significantly increases the rate of bone growth to the implant. The HA powder is also manufactured within the Cork manufacturing facility.
